Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for Academic All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level. In 2008, approximately 400,000 kids participated in Pop Warner. As our numbers once again reached record levels, 276 First Team members, over 5,000 Second Team members and 1,000+ Honorable Mention scholars were named as Academic All-Americans at the National Level for 2007-2008. The PWLS All-American Program requires a minimum 96% grade point average to apply for All-American status. After the applications have been processed, Pop Warner determines National First Team All-Americans (35 football, 25 cheer per grade), National Second Team All-Americans and National Honorable Mention Scholars. We would like to congratulate the following football players and cheerleaders from South Lake Pop Warner Eagles who made Mid Florida’s “First Team All American” for their accomplishments in Scholastic’s!!

South Lake Pop Warner Eagles Jr. Midget Cheer Squad and Midget Cheer Squad took 1st place at the Chancey Cheerleading Competition held on November 8, 2008!! On October 25, 2008 our Cheerleaders competed at the Mid-Fla Competition held at the Amway Arena. The Jr. Pee Wee squad placed 12th, the Jr. Midget Squad placed 3rd and the Midget squad placed 3rd. This year has been very exciting for our girls. This was the first year that our Tiny Mites were invited to take place in Exhibition along with the Mitey Mites and everyone had an awesome time!! Way to go Eagles!! We look forward to seeing you all back in 2009!! Many thanks to all of the coaches, parents, families and friends for all of your assistance!! We love you all!!

South Lake Pop Warner Eagles Do It Again!

The 2007 South Lake Pop Warner Eagles Junior Pee Wee Football Team won 18-6 against the Tampa Sharks! It was the Inaugural Terry Chancey I-4 Bowl in Tampa Florida. The Terry Chancey bowl games were for all teams that were Runner Ups in the Mid Florida Championship Games. Great way to end the season! Way to go South Lake Eagles Junior Pee Wees!!

The 2007 Football and Cheerleading Season all in all was a big success as usual for the South Lake Pop Warner Eagles. Our Midget Team won the Kansas City Tiebreaker and lost in the semi-final game to very good football team from Space Coast who is expected to make it to the Pop Warner Super Bowl at Walt Disney World in December. Our Jr. Pee Wee Team made it all the way to the Mid Florida Championship game at the Citrus Bowl on November 4th and lost a heartbreaker 16 - 9 to Azalea Park. South Lake had their chances but was unable to score twice inside the opponents five yard line. Our Pee Wee Cheer Squad placed third at the Mid Florida Cheer Competition and will advance to the Chancey Cheeroff on November 10th. Our Jr. Midgets Cheer Squad also advanced to the Regional Competition for their second year in a row! Their competition will take place on November 25th at the new UCF Arena. They are excited and looking forward towards their goal of First Place this year as last year they finished Second in the Nation! Way to Go South Lake Pop Warner Eagles!! What a Great 2007 Season!!!
